Radierung "Vanitas-Motiv am Meeresgrund"

Kupfer-Ätzradierung mit Strichätzung.
Eine 20 × 30 cm große Kupferplatte, handgedruckt auf weißem 26.5 × 39 cm großem Hahnemühle Büttenpapier.
Aufgrund der Eigenschaften des Einfärbungs-, Auswisch- und Druckprozesses weichen die einzelnen Drucke geringfügig voneinander ab.

Jeder Druck ist nummeriert und signiert.

Die Acetabularia-Algen im Vordergrund muten wie Gänseblümchen an. Seepocken (Balanus tintinnabulum) und ein Meereswurm mit dem schönen Namen „Schillender Seeringelwurm“ (Hediste diversicolor), zieren den Schädel. Im Hintergrund ist die Braunalge Sargassum zu sehen, die normalerweise an der Meeresoberfläche schwimmt (und dort riesengroße, zunehmend mit Plastikabfall kontaminierte Ökosysteme bildet, siehe Sargassosee).

The Acetabularia algae in the foreground resemble daisies. Barnacles (Balanus tintinnabulum) and a marine worm with the beautiful name “estuary ragworm” (Hediste diversicolor) adorn the skull. The brown algae Sargassum, which normally floats on the ocean’s surface (where it forms enormous ecosystems that are increasingly contaminated with plastic waste; see the Sargasso Sea) is shown in the background.
